Hand-carved Slate Necklaces

Recently, MayaBags has started an effort to provide work for Maya men, in addition to the women. 

This necklace  is the first MayaBags product that has been created by a Maya man who is a slate-carver, a father, a farmer, and an eager participant in the MayaBags effort.

This necklace is a real beauty, featuring  a hand-carved stone made of slate the Mayas find in the rivers, tiny glass beads in alternating colors of sea-glass blue and green, and a one of a kind polished stone varying in size and color.

Each necklace measures 16 inches long, with the slate falling approximately 10 inches from the bottom of your neck.  It closes with a sterling silver S-hook clasp, and sells for $115.00 US or $330 BZ.
