Material-Specific Care Guide

Why This Matters

MayaBags’ leather is locally processed using traditional, chemical-free techniques. Caring for it properly ensures it remains supple, rich in tone, and resilient—while honoring the heritage behind every stitch and tassel.

What You’ll Need

  • Soft, dry cloth

  • Mild, pH-balanced leather cleaner

  • Natural leather conditioner (beeswax-based or plant-based)

  • Small applicator sponge or clean hands

  • Storage pouch or breathable dust bag

How to Do It

Step 1

Wipe down gently with a dry cloth to remove surface dust and dirt.

Step 2

If needed, apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a soft cloth and gently rub in circular motions.

Step 3

Let dry naturally—avoid direct sun or heat.

Stem 4

Apply a small amount of leather conditioner, rubbing it in evenly with a cloth or fingers.

Step 5

Buff gently with a clean cloth for shine and softness.

Step 6

Store in a cool, dry place inside a breathable pouch when not in use.

Note: Do not use alcohol-based products, petroleum jelly, or baby wipes—they can strip natural oils from the leather.
