Material-Specific Care Guide

Why This Matters

These handles are a fusion of tradition and nature—braided nylon threads beaded with boiled, dried grass seeds. Proper care ensures their vibrant charm and strength last for years, while honoring the resourceful techniques of our artisans.

What You’ll Need

  • Dry, soft cloth or microfiber towel

  • Small soft-bristle brush (optional)

  • Cotton swabs

  • Mild soap and water (only if necessary)

  • Clear beeswax or natural conditioner (optional, for nylon thread only)

How to Do It

Step 1

Gently dust the handle using a dry cloth.

Step 2

Use a cotton swab or brush to clean around each seed bead.

Step 3

If necessary, dampen a cloth with mild soapy water, wipe lightly, and dry immediately.

Stem 4

Do not submerge the handle—seeds are natural materials and can soften or crack.

Step 5

Lightly rub clear beeswax along the nylon braid (not the seeds) to maintain flexibility and strength.
